PE22RE – Recycled foam material

During this time, we must all take on a great deal of social responsibility, but at the same time we must also remember to focus on environmental responsibility.

Over the years, we have been asked about alternatives to foam plastic packaging solutions and how to handle the waste of foam plastic.

We are very aware of the development of the market, what the customers want and expect, but we must also acknowledge that you cannot replace foam plastic with other materials in any packaging solution. We are confident that plastic in packaging solutions will be a necessity in the future.

As a responsible converter and expert in packaging, Linde+Larsen must be proactive and find solutions where we can reduce the use of plastic both in the packaging, but also when we produce the product.

We want to use the best available and least harmful products for the environment, as well as make sure to optimize the production of customers’ packaging solutions with the least possible consumption of plastic material.

We must constantly push our manufacturers to find better and more sustainable products and we must look at other solutions than the conventional materials.

This way, we find most optimal solutions that work for both our customers and the environment.

Over the next period, we will have even more focus on new and alternative materials, and they will be continuously presented to the market.

One of the new products we present is PE22RE.
Within Short-term Packaging, we expect a large activity on PE22RE foam in 2021.

PE = Polyethylene
22 = 22kgs / m3
RE = RECYCLED …… Produced from a minimum of 65% residual materials.
The product is also available in a PE28RE (28kgs/m3).

The foam comes from a controlled production of foam plastic where waste material is granulated, mixed with new and cast into a new foam plastic material, and where a minimum of 65% of the volume in the product is of waste materials.

This way we know the complete properties of the material, we get a homogeneous product which complies with the technical data every time and which has properties full on par with the conventional non-crosslinked PE foam products on the market in the same density.

The foam can be 100% recycled. Once the consumer has received their item, this packaging foam can be disposed of in recyclable plastic waste (LDPE4).

The foam is free of CFCs (Chlorofluorocarbons) and HCFCs (Hydrochlorofluorocarbons).

We welcome this new product and hope that you will welcome the product in 2021. In this way, we can together show responsibility for our environment.

We wish all our customers and partners a happy, socially and environmentally responsible 2021.
